The Robinhood Scandal

Robinhood is a popular trading app among millennials and it came under scrutiny about a month ago when multiple individual investors jumped on the Gamestop stock roller coaster. This sent the stock up by more than 14,300% last month but has since plummeted. A lot of people from independent investors, wall street investors, and members of congress have given their opinion on the unprecedented trading practices. At the moment Robinhoods options-trading practices include violations of Finra and the company along with its subsidiary are being investigated.

Industry Analysis

The Food Industry

Like every industry, COVID-19 has made a significant impact on the food industry, and has led to some changes and predictions that would not have happened without the pandemic. It is predicted that food insecurity will increase, and ultimately that consumers will look for foods that better their immune systems. Not only are people more inclined to eat at home rather than at a restaurant where they would be exposing themselves to the virus, but they are now also more likely to eat healthy as the virus has changed how people see the world, and how deeply they care for their health and well being. The pandemic has evidently affected the supply chain of this industry, food security, purchasing behavior, and the workforce amongst others.
